Frontière

Generative Risograph Art · 2026

Every composition exists at a frontier — the boundary between what has been made and what remains void. Frontière is a generative art system that makes this threshold visible: the point where drawing stops, where the pencil rests, where intention meets the undrawn.

The frontier is not a failure state. It is a revelation — it exposes the process of emergence that finished work conceals. Each work is an arrested moment, frozen at a different instant of making.

The Aesthetic

Every composition uses three inks only: paper, black, and gold. This mirrors the Risograph print tradition — flat layered shapes, halftone grain, and a slight misregistration between layers that gives the work its warmth. No gradients. Only planes of colour, clean lines, and the texture of ink on absorbent paper.

The Themes

The Poem

A small poem lives in the void — the undrawn space just beyond the frontier. It is placed where the drawing ends, fading as it reaches into the blank. Type a mood or concept to shift its tone. Each seed draws different lines from the same pool, so no two compositions carry the same words.

How to Explore

Each seed is a unique, reproducible composition. The same seed will always produce the same work — a number that contains a picture.
